Henderson County Shelter In Place extended through 04-30-2020

03-19-2020:
Yesterday I attended an emergency meeting of Henderson County mayors, school officials, and first responders pertaining to the COVID-19 pandemic. This meeting was conducted by Russell Hopkins, an epidemiologist with Northeast Texas Public Health District, along with Judge Wade McKinney of Henderson County. Although there have been no positive cases of the Corona Virus in Henderson County, emergency measures are in place and waiting to be applied. Until then, all communities have been asked to comply with Governor Abbot's and Judge McKinney's recommendations. Henderson County has already cancelled their scheduled rodeo, all Senior Center activites, as well as all local churches are cancelling services. Although this may be an inconvenience for some, Star Harbor must do it's fair share in helping to control the spread of this virus. We are cancelling all City Hall activities until further notice. The April 4th Golf Tournament has been cancelled. The golf course will remain open but limited to one foursome per hole. No group golf gatherings. The flags will be removed from the greens. Further information on this virus and what is happening in East Texas can be found by going to Google and typing in Northeast Texas Public Health District. Your help and understanding on this crisis is much appreciated. We are all in this together.
